First Premier Bankcard

Hi,

I recently paid in full an old charge off account with First Premier Bankcard that CO'd in 2/2018. It was reporting a balance, so when I paid it and it corrected, I gained 20 points.

First Premier reported a CO monthly until I paid it off. After payment, they failed to update the information. I waited about a week and disputed it as all info was innacurate.

I also emailed the presidents office and they said they would correct to say paid in full, was chargeoff.

They reported it as such for Experian, but re-aged the account on TransUnion and Equifax and I received an alert showing a new charge off account added to my report. Mind you, it is the same account. Payment status had also not been corrected.

I emailed and phone president's office regarding the issue. Just said they are reviewing.

I filed a BBB dispute because of the re-age and asked them to delete it because there is still incorrect info reporting, inconsistencies between all three bureaus and the Date of First Major Delinquency is now 6/2020 instead of 2/2018. It has been three days on BBB complaint.

Any idea of how to get this off my report or what I may expect from the BBB dispute? I uploaded evidence of discrepancies, score alerts showing it as a new account and the re-age. I also listed report numbers showing the information different since 2/2020 in their reporting.

Thank you,

Audrie

If "BBB" in this case refers to the Better Business Bureau, I am not familiar with them having any jurisdiction or authority with intervening or settling inaccuracies on credit reports.  If I am incorrect, I hope another contributor will comment.  My path for these discrepancies is usually to petition the original creditor > dispute with credit reporting agencies > file compliant with consumer financial protection bureau.  I have had success with the CFPB, but they have become lazy.  Here is their website CFPB

It is pleasant to hear that someone gets results when reaching out to CEOs etc regarding these matters, and I certainly hope your situation ends favorably.

Send your disputes via certified mail return receipt (CMRR) to the CRAs. The Fair Credit and Reporting Act (FCRA, Sect 611) requires that the CRA investigates your disputes, and if the information you are disputing is inaccurate, incomplete or cannot be verified it must be deleted.  They have 30 days.  Sometimes 45 days.

Good luck.

Re: First Premier Bankcard

The BBB will contact the FI and inquiry about the dispute on behalf of the consumer. Sometimes it works and unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't. You can go to the BBB site and see the outcome of complaints with a specific entity.

I find it interesting when a FI states it doesn't take certain action, like removing a late payment, but it is clearly spelled out on the BBB forum that sometimes they do.
