Format error? Surely not re-aged.

Hello, all. I have a charged off FPB with a DoFD of 09/2013. After my newest MyFico Premier 3B pull, it's now showing as green (not derogatory). Equifax site shows the latest update of Pays As Agreed (May 2020). Just making sure this is some type of formatting error, and there's nothing to worry about (still dropping off in 09/2020).

Lately things have been falling off early. Maybe Covid? Who knows. I fought for 2 yrs and gave up last year on 1 30 day late. Then 4 months early. Gone from all 3. Yeah! Points gained? Zippo on all 3! Smiley Mad Take it as a blessing and move on. Dont jinx it. Congrats!

Yeah, that is unfortunate. I have 2 accounts *exactly* like that. They have remained well past the 7 year derog reporting window since they are now labeled "paid as agreed". This means instead of the account dropping off at 7 years, the lates will drop one at a time as they hit 7 years old and the account will remain at least 10yrs after the "date of last update". I can say rhis because of my 2 accounts that were CO'd in 2006 and 2008. They still remain and all the derog remarks were removed at 7 years each and now they just look like positive TLs that help my age of accounts. Sux if you were looking forward to them dropping off. This happened because they were disputed so many times by a CRA.

I hope this isnt the case for you, but the account status is very important in determining if/when it drops off.

Good luck!

Oh hells naw. I'm not waiting 9 years, 11 months for a CO to finally clear. I'll shoot them a nastygram later today.

I mean, I think even the smart monkeys at the call center can figure this one out. I "caught up" a CLOSED CO, yet the balance hasn't changed one penny...seems legit 👍. #eyeroll

Hmmm...maybe precoffee with a 3 month old baby got me this morning. I took it as it being brought current and in the process no longer derogatory. That was my confusion...how can a CO be brought current to a Pays As Agreed status (therefore no more DoFD)?

A CO can never be brought to a "current account" once a CO always a CO paid or not.

@gdale6 exactly. So what would be the point of them randomly throwing in a Pays As Agreed 3 months before the fall off date

It certainly can happen when it has been disputed and it says in the remarks it has. It is further punishment, but not forever. It eventually becomes a good thing. The TL will *not* drop off at 7 years from DoFD. It will remain at least 10 years from last update. Each negative mark will drop off as they reach 7 years old. Once the bad marks drop, it will keep it's age and say "paid as agreed" (or whatever) showing that it is a positive TL.

So yeah, bad, but then good.

That's how I learned to leave accurate accounts alone! I am terrified to dispute anything anymore.

Probably because the 3 lates (30, 60, 90 days) that led to the charge off were a string that fell off as 1.
