First Rebuilder Post

Hello all, I have been stalking these forums for about a year now and felt it was finally time to talk about my rebuilding journey. I am a college student and about 2 years ago I fell onto hard times and accumulated much debt through collections and closed credit cards. I am now trying to clean up my reports and make my way into the 700 club!! Below will list my report details and what I've done this far.

Credit Cards
Two closed credit cards by creditor, one charged off with balance paid less than full with settlement. The other still holds a balance $500, brought down from
900.
Current:
Cap 1 Secured $185/200
Cap1 Platinum: SL $500 10/16 Enrolled in credit steps but made last payment few days late so they pushed back my increase date to Oct. Hit luv button anyway and received $1000 increase.
VS comenity: SL 350 10/16. Hit luv button twice last month. NOTHING. Tried this morning and got message I was ineligible to receive increase ????
NyCo comenity: SL 0/16. Hit luv button twice last month, nothing. This morning tried and received $200 increase WOOH!

Collections
1. ATT/ AFNI : $1683. Spoke with ATT, they said they will delete from report once paid in full. Will be a while before I can pay this down.
2. Comcast/ Diversified consultants: $166, about 2 years old. DCI would not accept PFD. Comcast wouldn't recall from DCI. So I paid yesterday with Comcast directly and will dispute DCI to see if it falls off. Fingers crossed!!!
3. Appliance Warehouse/ Credit Vision: $313 also two years old. Credit vision accepted PFD yesterday and provided me with an e-mailed letter . Waiting to see this fall off report.
4. Gas company/ Convergent Outsourcing: $358 accepted PFD yesterday and will email letter sometime this weekend . I was shocked as I've heard bad things about convergent via my fico but the rep was super nice and didn't give me a hard time .

Recents apps:
1. Cap1 QS1: denied have too many cap 1 accounts. Read through my fico you can only have two rebuilder cards at a time
2. Barclays MasterCard : received 7-10 day message. Called recon number he started I had recent collections and some lates on CCs. Boo hoo
3. Walmart: 7-10 message, called CS said denial letter will be in the mail with reasons
4. Merrick Bank: approved $550 SL will double in 7 months with on time payments

Around November scores were in the 550s. Now according to CCT: 591 EX 601 TU 591 EQ . Been using CK for scores ,620s but realized most lenders loook at FICO not vantage scores Smiley Sad hoping for big score jumps once collections fall off

Patience?

I say that sincerely ... wait for the PFDs to come through, make your payments on time, keep your UTI reasonable. Pay that Secured card down or off completely.

Also, stop apping for cards. You have plenty.

Do you have a car loan? Any kind of personal loan? That would add to the mix of accounts and help a little.

Re: First Rebuilder Post

I would still make payments to your student loans because there is no interest as of yet so it hits the main balance without the added interest...I got 5 points when I paid off 800 dollars out of my 38k of student loans...so I am paying about 250 a month while I am still in school. My loans are being serviced through Fedloan
