First Timer

I've decided to begin tackling the baddies on my report. I called a collector, paid my whopping $6 bill that was in collections and got a deletion letter on the spot. The office happened to be local so I just went straight there and got it taken care of.

That being said, I don't think removing a $6 collecition is going to help bring my score up. But, it's a start. I have 2 old derogatory accounts falling off this year. My FICO is currently at 642. I'm gardening until futher notice.

My goal is to have a 700 score in the next 5 years lol. I know it's long term- but we have a 5 year plan to sell our current home and move into something bigger. If I reach that goal sooner, I'll bump the goal up. Smiley Happy

Welcome to the forum.

Good beginning.  If those are the only collections, then you might see 700 sooner.

Re: First Timer

I would think you could see 700 within a year if you put a plan together.

Re: First Timer

I would try to have three bankcard revolving accounts to get a good benefit with fico scores to have a nice little bump..
