First real progress!

This is the exciting part of rebuilding!  I know there will probably be highs and lows as I work to rebuild and repair, but I can't help to be super pumped about the very first real change I've seen in my report!  I got a 21pt bump for adding a second CC (Cap1 Plat $1k SL).  I know, 3 cards to mazimize and do AZEO.  Keeping my 1st card (restricted but reporting monthly in good standing) at $0 and my second is below 8% usage.  I was recently approved via SCT for a Victoria Secret card with $500 SL.  Plan to keep at $0 as well except once a quarter maybe throwing a small item on there so it doesn't close.

If you have read my previous posts, you may remember that I have had a bad record of paying on time and a lot of lates reporting.  Lots of 30d, some 60d, some even up to 180d (yikes!).  I have now set everything in my life to autopay.  My income is excellent so there was never a need to make late payments.  I just didn't manage things well.  GW letters are going out for some previous lates but I'm not banking on that, just wishful thinking.  Lots of my lates are on closed Federal SL accounts so I'm just going to have to wait those out.  Also doing Whychat's HIPAA method to remove try to tackle the one paid collection reporting on EQ and EX, as well as the 1 unpaid that I can PIF reporting on EQ and TU.  Thanks for all the help so far and sharing of so much knowledge!  I wish I had learned this sooner and well before having to do this the hard way.  I still have a long road ahead in my rebuild, but I am excited for the start of seeing progress. Considering my FAKOs were in the 400s last year, seeing that EX FICO8 score bump to 619 is nice.

Re: First real progress!

Congratulations on your rebuilding success so far! And you're right, there will be high and lows (it really is a marathon not a sprint!) but keep going! Kudos for setting up auto pay, and making things easier for your self.

Re: First real progress!

I also just noticed where some of my score bump came from!  I compared my 3b report from October and the one I just got.  My OPEN federal SL account took off 6 lates across all 3 CRs (1-90d, 1-120d, 1-150d, 3-180d) without me doing anything to ask!  Hoping they don't show up again.  The only difference that happened with that account this month was that I renewed my IBR program online.

Re: First real progress!

Hells yea. Can't believe you for a $1k SL with those scores. Now I might have to apply for the platinum lol. I've been debating on whether to apply for it or not. Also don't know if I want to do platinum or the QS1($39 AF). Hmmm

Do the Platinum and have the QS rewards added to the card after 60 days or so.
