Hello,
My wife has a baddie from "GECRB/Bombardier" that we are trying to have removed through a Goodwill letter. Several years ago, she signed up for a joint motorcycle loan with her boyfriend at the time. He promptly wrecked the bike and bailed, leaving her on the hook to try to keep everything afloat. She (with no contribution from him) paid a settlement on the account for less than the full balance owed.
We've applied for a mortgage and discovered that she has a 710 score, which bars us from a conventional loan. I know if we get this removed, it will launch her score well past the 720 mark.
However, I wanted to seek some guidance on how to route our letter to this bank. It looks like this is GE Capital Retail Bank, but since they back many credit cards (this account was revolving according to her credit report), I wasn't sure if we send this request to the bank or to the local business that signed her up for the credit card.
I don't want to screw this up, so any guidance or advice is appreciated. I put this in the CC forum, due to the revolving nature of the account, but feel free to move if it fits better elsewhere.
Thanks so much!
This thread will probably get moved elsewhere, but...
there are much easier ways to raise her score 10 points. What's her utilization % on her credit cards?
CC util varies between 2-4%, $32800 total CL.
No other listed debt other than student loans.
We need her to reach 720 minimum for conventional, but better rates come past 760. Hence the effort into GW.
You might have better luck posting under the "rebuilding" section. If you look at the CR, you should see some contact info for the creditor. You would write to GE and NOT where she bought the motorcycle. They're not involved in the financing at all.

Thanks. I should have clarified, the P.O. Box listed on the CR is local, not GE.

Maybe GE has a local office, I know they bought Bombardier finacing about 5 years ago, have you tried a google search of the po box?
Guess what I found out. Apparently GECRB is actually based out of Orlando, where I live. I assumed it was the address for the local business, but it's actually the address for GE. Heh, who knew? ![]()
Moving this thread to the rebuilding forum.
Just sent you a PM with the email address I used to get a GE removed.
Could you pm me that address also please, thank ya much.
