To Whom It May Concern:Good day, I had been a xxxxxx customer from late 2001 to August 2002 and during that time I have had nothing but the best customer service and I have heard nothing but praise for your cards. Unfortunately I am not writing to commend you on your great customer service but about late payments on my account. The account in question, account # xxxxxx, was opened in 2001. During the time the account was opened, my family and I underwent some unforeseen financial difficulties through different job changes. Although I tried my best to fulfill my obligation to xxxxxxx, I was unable to maintain the monthly payments in a timely manner. During this period, I was late over a period of 3 months. After 90 days, I was able to recover and pay the account in full, at which time I closed the card to prevent any future late payments.I believe that the late payments that are not a good indicator of our actual credit worthiness. I am asking and hoping that due to my overall history with your organization and after this account was paid in full, that you would make a goodwill adjustment to your reporting of my accounts to the three credit bureaus, TransUnion, Experian and Equifax. We hope that xxxxxx is willing to work with me on erasing these marks from my credit reports.

Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and considering our request.
We ran into a financial brick wall back in 2004 and early 2005. During that time we made a number of mistakes and one of those was being late with our payments to xxxxxxxx. Our credit reports show several lates during that period. Since that point, we recovered and paid on our loan with timely payments and even paid it off early.
We are writing today with hopes you would consider removing the late payments listed on our reports. We are looking to buy our first home come this fall and we would appreciate the help.

OK, I made a mistake! It was my fault that I let my xxxxxx credit card get charged-off. While I did lose my job during that period, in retrospect, there's family I could have called on for assistance.
Fast forward to five years, I have a greater appreciation for credit, finances, and money management. Knowing what I know now, I would never let things get out of hand like they did. I hope xxxxxx can forgive me. I have wised up and have a pristine credit report with the exception of this account and one other.
I am writing today to ask for forgiveness by removing the lates and charge-off remark from my credit reports. I paid the debt off and am looking to set things straight.
