I've cleaned up my credit a bit recently. I started to write GW letters to remove a few late payments. 2 - 30 day late w/ Ford Motor Credit (PAID and closed in 2010) and 3 - 30 day lates with SYCB/WALMART (Revolving, last late payment 2011). I sent a letter last week via US MAIL but have not seen any updates on CreditKarma.com. I sent a copy of the letters to both creditors via EMAIL today which I get an auto reply a response will be made within 24-48 hours.
How often should I send a GW letter and is it best to send a letter via US MAIL or EMAIL?
If anyone has had any luck please reply!
IMO GW letters should always be sent by mail to the CEO. I did 1 a month till I got what I was after. Good luck
Thanks so much! I will keep trying

Ceo will never see these letters.
The secretary does and depending on his/her mood that day you may get what you want. I have had some VERY inconsistent results with one particular secretary at GE. One month she removes all lates. Next month she says "Go pound sand". Two weeks later she says she will remove 1 30 day late when I need the 90 deleted.
Do you include a copy of the report (just pages showing the negatives) with your letter? I guess I will continue to hope someone is in a good when opening my letters

I am a firm believer in never giving up. I started this journey 2 years go with 12 baddies and today I am down to 2. Yesterday, I sent another round of GW letters on the last 2. With GW requests, you need patience and persistence.
If I still have the same TL with Capital One, would sending a secured message through the website have a realistic chance of getting a 3.5 year old late removed?. Or would a letter be the better way to go? I use the card regularly and have paid on time since that 60-day late.

The 2 creditors I sent secured messages/emails to through the website replied asking me to send a written letter of what I was requesting. So it may be better to go ahead and send a GW letter via snail mail.

Thanks for the advice. I'll go ahead and do that.
