Hey Fico fam!
I posted this in my personal progress thread but thought I would share this in case it helps anyone. I had 3 30-day lates reporting on my Kohls/Cap one card from 2020. I emailed the CEO and just honestly explained the situation (I was going through a career change one week before all heck broke loose in the world with Covid).
I know there have been some awesome GW templates and very formal/official language in them. I'm sure those work too but once in a while it helps to just be human and be humble- admit your mistakes. Anyway, it was very brief and I didn't actually expect anything to come of it. Well I recieved a phone call from an executive at Kohl's and wow, a completely down to earth and caring woman! The lates were removed from my report immediately (she said could be 30 days but it was like 30 minutes).
Moral of the story is you really do miss 100% of the shots you don't take! Made a big difference in my score to have 100% positive payments!
@KateInquires congrats, this is great news for you and gives great hope for others!!!! You are so correct, we will never know about things we don't attemp!! Sweet, happy for you and your credit reports, lol!
Congratulations! Very well done. I think a personal touch goes further for most of these companies. I can only imagine how many boilerplate templates they see every day because "it worked for someone else it will work for me".
I hate hearing no, but have tried hard to get past that fear and relay on here often that no one can tell you yes if you don't ask.

Kohl's is owned by Capital One, so look for the Capital One CEO email.
