Authorized user on 2 Chase charge-off accounts.

So I pulled my report and was surprised to find that 2 of the cards I was an authorized user on were still reporting to EQ and TU but not EX. These were cards that went bad when COVID hit as I was graduating and maxing out cards to finish school and move across the country in April 2020. The plan was to start working full-time right away but that did not happen due to the shutdowns. Same story many have I am sure. Anyways the accounts were opened 07/2018 and started going bad JUN 2020, CO was 12/2020. Should I request to be removed and delete those or just let it ride? I know it can be a balancing act between removing a CO and lowering the age of accounts. AAoA right now is 5 Y 8 M. Any thoughts? I know it would be easy to get them taken off just figuring out if I should.

A CO is far more damaging than any age boost you're getting from the AU accounts. Plus, many lenders discount AU accounts when evaluating your profile anyway.

I'd remove myself ASAP.

Dispute them as "not responsible for repayment" please delete... You dont want them, the CO outweighs any advantage to retaining them

Re: Authorized user on 2 Chase charge-off accounts.

All that you need to do is dispute them with the bureaus, stating that you were just an AU and not the account owner.  They will delete them very quickly.  Then, contact the creditor and have them remove you as an AU.
