Gemb/Banan & Wfnnb/Exst need some advises

Hi, I need some advises to remove these late payments with the charge cards.

1 late payment with Express on August, 2004
2 late payments with Banana Republic Nov 2003 & Aug 2004

What should I do to have them remove it on my credit report, this is the only thing that's hurting my credit right now. its almost 4 years already.

Since you have paid these, you need to send GW (goodwill) letters, asking them to please stop reporting the lates. This might be a little tough, as you haven't been using the card.

Click on this link, and look for the two GW threads in there:

If they won't delete it for me, can I keep sending the letter or I need to wait for a period of time? Also? where can I find out the address for these companies?

Re: Gemb/Banan & Wfnnb/Exst need some advises

I have a 60 day with WFNNB back in 12/04. Explained that I moved and did not receive the bill in the GW letter.
I do recall telling the CSR over the phone that I had changed my address with my last payment.
Anyways, its been almost 4 weeks since I sent the GW letter. I will probably follow up with a call later today since nothing has been done.
I've read that some people were successful when they called. I haven't used the card since the late pmt so I hope that they won't be difficult to deal with.

Re: Gemb/Banan & Wfnnb/Exst need some advises

This letter worked for me for Express - they're good people:

To: Controller of My Destiny

Good Day. I am writing to you in regards to a delinquent payment on my part to your company WAY back in March of 2003. I am humbly requesting that you greatly consider removing this negative remark from my credit report. As you can see on my account, I have been a loyal customer for eight years (as of this month) and only had that one little, tiny, miniscule overdue payment.

While this does not seem like an enormous blemish on a credit report, I want to stress the importance of my request. I am going to attempt to purchase my very first home (ever) this year and am doing everything within my power to slowly creep my credit score up so that I will not have to sell my soul to the devil in order to get a decent interest rate.

Again, while this would seem to be a minor effort on your part and in the grand scheme of things, it would greatly improve my chances of buying a home for me and my children, and restore my faith in humanity.

Please let me know if you have any questions, require additional information, or if you just want to call and tell me that you’ve made my dreams come true. My number and email address are below. I appreciate anything you can do.

Yes - I am aware that I am crazy and weird. I get called both of them often.

Smiley Happy
