HI! Forum!
I love all of you and thanks for you experienced advice. I noticed many of you had collections issues and I did too as I had things deleted from my credit reports. The methods that worked for me was not hard. But using my state websites and checking to see if the Collection Agencies ( CA's) were registered ( had a business filing) and also licensed in my state( Financial Institutions Divisions) - they make laws and regulate the collection agencies or banks in my state. Each state has different laws and varies. A majority of the 50 state have a Secretary of State (business filings) and also a Financial Division( this department regulates Collections agencies). I had dealt with the many collections due to identity theft and old accounts that were opened fraudulently, wrong identity, or a very old small bill. And I checked the websites to see if these agencies could collect in my state and found out a majority of them could not.
So I filed a complaint with my state as the state mailed copies of my letter to the collection agencies with my affidavit of forgery( most of them), and also stating past SOL date( some of them), and stating that with the state's codes NRS(etc the collection agency is not registered with either office Secretary of State of The FID ( financial division) and there's a fine for them trying to collect on any accounts. I lvie in Las Vegas, NV. They don't play about their money. The don't allow other businesses to collect on money here and not be registered, etc; LOL.
I received responses back from the state with a enclosed letters from the collection agencies that they will stop collecting on the accounts and remove the debt from the credit report. I figured that these agencies knew that they couldn't collect and they didn't want to be fined by the state. So I advise you to check you state laws in regards to collection agencies. It worked for me and each situation is different. I also complained to the state's Consumer Affairs, Attorney General office. Feel me to private message me as I became more knowledgeable in handling this junk debt buyers. They don't mess with me too much anymore. Thanks to my knowledge and learning experience of the FDCRA/FDCPA/TILA. Good Luck!

Thank cool side-
I'm sure a lot of people would benefit from the state resources. But in NEVADA, collections must be registered with the SOS- sec of state, have an ACTIVE business filing and be licensed ( FID -financial inst division) as well as have an office here in the state and an collection manager must have a 2 yr degree in a business/finance field.
