Getting a TL deleted from CA... need some advice

Hi guys, first post, but I've been reading these forums for months.  Great community.

Here's my question.  I currently have a CA reporting on my credit report for a debt that i am making payments to the CA for.  I'm almost paid off and want to gain some bargaining power to have the TL deleted from CRs.

Anyone have any advice on how I can do this?  I know I should have done a PFD in the beginning, but I was uneducated when I agreed to pay monthly on the debt!  Is there a way I can send a letter instructing the CA to delete if the accept the last payment?  Or should I just wait and hope for GW?  Thoughts?

Re: Getting a TL deleted from CA... need some advice

Hi and welcome to the forums.

You can still offer a PFD.  If you can pay the entire amount remaining offer to do that if they will delete.  If you can't, wait until the balance is where you could afford it then offer the PFD.

I would not send a letter instructing them to delete.  They don't have to do it in the first place and may feel threatened by that comment.

Write a letter to them telling them that you have paid as agreed and would like to offer a PFD for the deletion of the account.

Thank you so much.  I didn't know if I should PFD since I'm going to be paying the debt off eventually if I keep making my payments on time. I'll try it though!
