The short form of this: TU has zero collections, EX has 1 collection, EQ has 2 collections. These are all old PIF medical collections that are within 6-9 months of falling off (FINALLY). I did not request the deletions so I'm not sure why TU already zapped them while some remain on the other 2 bureaus. If I mailed a request to EX and EQ to remove the remaining collections because TU has already done so because I want to align all 3 reports accurately, would there be a good chance of this being successful?
Hey there.
I've actually had a similiar experience. I mailed TU and asked them to delete because EQ had. Did not have a problem with that, however, EX gave me a response that I honestly can not get angry at. They pretty much told me that just because TU and EQ deleted doesnt make them obligated to do so. My suggestion would be to either continue to monitor them for the fall off date (Date of First Delinquency +180 days usually) and ensure that they are gone by that date or dispute the information with the CRA's. YMMV with EX.
Unfortunately, you will never be able to align all three CRAs.
One reason is that each creditor may not report to all 3 of them. You may have things on one that is not on the other.
Each CRA does things a little differently. For me, TU always deleted earlier than the other 2.
I would avoid sending a letter with a request like that. They may take it as a dispute.
What you can do is send the CAs holding the accounts GW letters asking if they would remove them.
try sending GW but mentioning the HIPPA process I did that with one of my med collections and it is now gone.
GW's are your best route right now. Good Luck!
