Getting close - 33 point increase

Hi everyone, I got my new TU score today and my score jumped from 661 to 694. Had 3 inq and 2 CA age off. 2 out of the 9, so I now have 7 left, all scheduled to fall off in the next 3 months. I'm getting really close to my goal and getting some prime cards. I'm sure my EQ increased too, but I'm going to wait till next month to pull that score. Just wanted to thank everyone and encourage all new comers. It takes time, but it can be done. I started with a 590 score two years ago and hope to be in the low to mid 700s by November. Hope to see another nice jump by September since I'll have another 4 accounts age off by then.

Re: Getting close - 33 point increase

Thanks guys!

@freakshow, the two biggest things that will help you the most are patience and knowledge. It will take time, it's a marathon not a sprint. Be patient and don't rush.

And knowledge. Read these forums as much you need and soak up as much knowledge as you can. These forum are full of experienced people who know what they are taking about.

I first got a Cap1 card to begin showing good responsable credit usage, and about a year later got another one. Those two cards got my score up enough to get a mortgage and then a car loan. It's been over 4 years since any derogatory items. So patience was the key.

Good luck on your journey, you'll get there.

Re: Getting close - 33 point increase *** UPDATED ****

Woke up today and pulled my TU report from TrueCredit.com and was VERY happy to see that (4) more accounts aged off since my last report. This now only leaves (4) derog accounts left. These are scheduled to fall off in Nov (hope I get lucky and they age sooner). After this, all that will be left is a PR and a handfull of lates from 2008. No negative marks in the last 4 years.

Well, I decided to pull my Fico score today and WOW!!!! I am now at 734!!!!!! That's another 40 point increase. One of the accounts that aged off was still showing 10+ (120) day lates back in 2005, so this one must have really helped.

Re: Getting close - 33 point increase *** UPDATED ****

Thank you, and a BIG thank you for everyone who is on these boards and has ever given anybody some advice. These boards really did help me out a lot.

I am getting a really bad itch to put in some apps for Prime cards now....... I've been doing a lot of reseach on CCs and these are all on my wish list:

Amex BCP (Zync if I have to, to get the foot in the door, not sure if this score is good enough)

Chase Freedon

Cap1 VentureOne card (I really doubt I'll be able to PC, so I'll have to cancel both my current cards and apply for this one)

Discover IT

Lowe's

These are the only cards I want, no need for any more. Do you think I am ready, or should I be patient and wait?

Add the U.S. Bank Cash+ to the wishlist too.... Maybe remove the Discover IT card.... Really don't want more than 3-4 cards total.
