Getting frustrated

I have three deragatory CO's on my CR which are over 3 years old.  I sent DV letters to all three and the accounts were updated to recent and dropped my score. I also sent PFD letters to them but got no response. They are all revolving acoounts and show as utilization on my CR. I can pay them off but if I do it probably wouldn't help my scores.

The collections are with DFS(dell financial Services) and two with First Premier.

Can anyone help or give some suggestions?

Did you send DV letter to the OC? If you did that's why you took a hit on your score. DV go to CA's not OC's. Are they still within the SOL time frame?

Re: Getting frustrated

Yes, I sent it to the OC because they are the only names showing on my CR. I don't know who the CA is at this point. Should I call the OC and get the CA name and address? Would it help to offer the a PFD to them instead?

The SOL has passed on a three COs.

Re: Getting frustrated

I called the OC (First Premier) and they stated the accounts were sold to Redline Recovery & Resurgent Capitol Services.

If I send them a PFD how will they know my identity? The account number showing on my repoort is not the full number, I don't have any other reference nubmers to give them and I sure as heck will not send them my SSN through the mail. How will they know it's me if I send them a PFD letter?

Since you found out that a CA owns the accounts now the OC can not accept payment. The can by the account number given to them from the OC. It's up to you if you want to send a PFD or DV Letter.

Re: Getting frustrated

First Premier doesn't sell there accounts. Redline works for them. If they are factoring into your utilization it will increase your score because it will take your utilization to zero if you pay

Re: Getting frustrated

Wow. They told me that. Redline has my account as they told OP and I found out that Redline doesn't own my acct FPB does. They are still reporting on CR as FPB so I guess it differs from case to case

Re: Getting frustrated

Mine is with Portfolio I believe.  I also could be where in the country you live.

I don't know which is worse, having FP own it or it being sold to Portfolio lol.

Re: Getting frustrated

Yes, I called FPB and asked. They said they sold one account to Redline and the other to Resurgent Capitol Services. I'm just trying to find the best way to handle these. i have the money to pay them off but I want to make sure it has a positive affect on my credit score.
