Can any one tell me if this is okay to do. I have this one CA that hits my credit stating the same deragortory every months is this going to cause my credit to drop each time they list the same infor? I just sent out a letter asking for verification since on my report it doesn't state who's the original creditor.
Unfortunately the CAs wil keep doing that. Often even after it is paid in full they will keep updating every month and the derog will appear to FICO as a recent derog item. Only way to get around it is to obtain a PFD or GW.
You could send out a DV to the CA. Normally, you are supposed to send out a DV within 30 days of having received the dunning letter. But if you have never received the dunning letter, you could allege that the firs t communication with the CA was when you were reviewing your credit reports.
Send out the DV CMRRR and after 30 days, if there is no response, send out a Dispute to the CRA. If the CA verifies to the CRA, then they are in violation of continuing collection without validating your debt.
Once it is paid in full that date should not change and it should have no impact on your score. It would only impact your score if you paid a 2 year old debt that updated to the current reporting month.
I paid a collection in full in May 05. The CA reports each month but the date it was paid does not change, and it does not affect my score.
Even if the CA reports each month it should not impact your score. I have several paid collections and the CA updates monthly. There is no change in my score. I also have several unpaid collections that are reported each month. Nothing has made my score change by their reporting.
Now if I paid one of the old collections, that would have an impact on my score.
I am not sure why a CA should report each month after a collection is paid. Once it is paid it is paid and I see no reason for them to continue reporting.
