I have a Rise account as well, I sent them a valadation letter since this loan was taken out by my ex wife in my name, was hoping to have something to dispute on but they sent me a letter back stating that their collection agency "NCB" now ownes the account.

NCA , is a tough nut to crack. I’ve been sending letters and they ignore them every time.

Re: Getting rid of my baddies for good - Quick Update

Just wanted to provide a quick check in...I called NCA and told them about the letter from OC (RSVP loans). I also left another message with the director of operations (listed in the CFPB complaint response). A rep from their consumer affairs team? called me back to tell me that they do not care about what the original creditor agreed to, they do not delete....no matter what. UGH.  I asked if I could speak directly to the director and she said that he does not speak to consumers. Why would their lawyer list him as the POC then???

I am not going to let this go. I thought I was so close to getting them both removed.

Re: Getting rid of my baddies for good - Round 2

All of my baddies remain...

08/2018 - 30 Day late - Navy Federal - Rewards Visa (closed by credit grantor 11/2017)
07/2018 - Collection - NCA Management - Settled 11/2018 (3/14 OC approved removal)
07/2017 and 08/2017 - 30 Day late - PSECU Auto Loan
04/2017 - Collection - NCA Management - Settled 11/2018
06/2015 - 30 Day late - Macys

I just sent round two e-mails to NCA, this time I asked for "early removal" instead of goodwill removal. I will see if that change in language helps anything. Good news is the NFCU late will be 12 months old in a few days....I will post if I see any size jump in score, I did notice slight increases as it aged over 6 months.

I haven't attempted to GW the others (PSECU or Macys) in a while and I am not sure how much they are weighing on my score at this point. i might try the PSECU again especially because of the situation (car was totalled and insurance paid late).

Re: Getting rid of my baddies for good - Round 2

Not good. It kind of reminds me of Independence day when the military was trying to see if they destroyed the alien ship.....

After all the shooting, the alien ship remained. Just like my NCA collections. 😢
