Getting started.

Hello everyone I am new here but not new to trying to fix my credit. I had an accident which caused a bunch of bills to get behind and now 6 years later this is still haunting me as I try to buy a house. I have managed to pay off most of my major debts, but I have a few minor ones that reported just a month ago, so it tanked my score. Now I am just trying to figure out the best approach to get my score to jump back up. One is from a utility company, the other is in the process of being removed.

Re: Getting started.

If you could give us a bit more info we will be able to assist you better. Such as account status...balance...charge offs. Sent to collection and so forth. If you are comfortable. And welcome.

Re: Getting started.

Call DTE and pay it directly after they agree to remove it from your reports. DV the other one and see what happens. I suggest you run a mortgage app well in advance of the real one to bring out the scumbags that will be waiting in the wings, you need to deal with them before the real mortgage app as they most assuredly will show up a week or so prior to closing knowing full well you will have no choice but to PIF.

Re: Getting started.

Yea I already had my mortgage guy run an app, he told me I need to get my score up to 640. I'll give DTE a call and see if they will delete it and go from there. I also dropped my CC utilization down to around 20%.
