Good scores/thin-ish file

Hi, I've been rebuilding credit from virtually nothing with great results so far. Could use advice on next steps... My goal is to maximize on travel rewards and bonuses.

In April 2013 I started with a $100 secured with a local CU, then $500 secured in Oct 2013 with another CU. Both converted to unsecured a year later with $2k limit each. FICO jumped to ~700, so I was thrilled to get instant approval for Amex Blue CW Preferred for $2k in June 2104 (CLI to $5k a month ago). Also got a $1k Macy's last Nov. FICO now ~737 and I really want the CSP (and maybe a no AF card such as Citi DC , as I'm going to Europe for 3 weeks in May.

I always PIF, and no baddies except a paid $60 utility from 2009. I would feel confident going for the CSP EXCEPT my CU just closed the oldest secured card. So now my oldest card is only 17 mo's, and avg credit is 8 mo's. Should I wait?

Re: Good scores/thin-ish file

Are you doing the math yourself? The reason I ask is because the credit union account should remain on your report for 10 years, so it shouldn't affect your AAoA.

Starting Score: Ex: 495 Eq: 492 Tu: 497
Current Score: Ex: 708 Eq: 716 Tu: 710

Re: Good scores/thin-ish file

By the way, AAoA is average age of accounts.  Not sure if you were familiar with the abbreviations members use here.

Re: Good scores/thin-ish file

As stated AAoA is not affected as closed positive accounts remain on file for up to 10 years post close. Let your new 5K line report and then go for the CSP. Welcome to My Fico & Good luck Smiley Happy
