Goodwill Letter Backfired- Paypal SmartConn

I had one 30 day late payment back in 2008, i have been goodwilling Paypal for about 2 months, they finally removed the 30 day pate, but also removed my entire history. So i dropped 4 points on my Transunion score, but i gained points on my Experian. All in all i think its worth it.

The only one i have left is a 60 day on Jcpenney.

I stareted at 605 in June with my Experian, now its 680. Goodwill letters DO WORK! I only had these two lates on my credit report. i sent a letter a month and i varied my word choice.

Anyone have any luck withJcpenney? They wont even reply to my letters and i even fax it to the dispute department as well. All they keep doing is updating the status from "consumer disputes this inormation" to the standard "account paid/closed, HC Column etc etc". It did get me more points though, however i have no idea why.

How do you know who/where to send goodwill letters to?

Ive been wanting to send a few... but i dont even know where to start :-/

My credit journey has completed. I am currently sitting at 800+ across the board.

I started my journey here years ago, and thanks to MyFico, it really is possible.

I do not have experience with JCPenneys, but I am happy you had some problems fixed. Store cards in general are trickier to have fixed with goodwill letters and reaing. That does not mean they will not do it, but it miht take longer. Contact your card company and let them know what happened and see what can be done to recover your history. Your account has to show that it was open on XX/XXXX date and that clearly it is still there.

One of the possible outcomes of a GW letter is that the creditor might just delete the entire account as opposed to just removing the late payments.

Sometimes the effect of this is still good; sometimes it can hurt your FICO score, it will depend on the severity of the lates and the age of the account.

What is the address you sent your letter to paypal? I have been looking for an address to send a goodwill letter with no avail. I call and then just get sent from person to person. please help!!!
