Re: Inquiry on (DATE)
Dear Credit Card Company,
I am writing to you today regarding my Inquiry on (DATE). First off I want you to know that this is not in any way a dispute, I understand that the inquiry I am writing to you today about is completely valid and was approved by myself.
What I am requesting today is the possible removal of the inquiry made on (DATE). The current inquiry on my credit report has made it difficult for me to obtain approval from various other services that a credit report is required for. Although the inquiry is valid and would require effort on your part to remove I hope that it would be possible as It would greatly help out.
Regardless of your decision I plan on remaining a loyal customer and I appreciate you allowing me to use your services for the past (?) Months.
Your kind consideration in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,

The letter looks great.
I will advise you as I have every other person I have seen post about GW removing inquiry, to tread carefully.. I sent similar letters for inquiries hoping to tidy up my report, and I got hit with more than a dozen fraud alerts that took months to clear out and get my report back to normal...
just beware you might be heading that direction..
I did get a couple remove btw, so it wasn't all negative, but it sure wasnt worth the effort.

In the case that I do end up causing a fraud alert how would I go about removing it? Does it negativley impact my credit or make it difficult to obtain credit?

It does make it more difficult, but they are easy to remove, you just need to call the CRA and verifiy some information. Once you do, they will remove it..
But if you get hit by a lot of them, you are talking many, many nights on hold with three CRAs cleaning it up

Good letter...I think I would add a sentence, about if they can't remove it, if they can convert the hard to a soft...
Dear Consumer:
FCRA 604 requires that, upon making a request for a consumer credit report, we provide certification of our permissible purpose for receiving the report.
Our permissible pupose was accurately reported.
Having complied with that stautory requirement and received the requested credit report, we see no basis for deletion of that certification from the consumer's credit file.
While inclusion of our inquiry in your credit report may have credit scoring implications, we have no basis for requesting the CRA to delete any information regarding our inquiry.
Spoken - I was just wondering if you ever went through with the Goodwill letters to remove the authorized inquiries? Did it work? I recently went car shopping and have been hit with 15 inquiries. I realize they say that all pulled for auto loans within a 14 or 30 day period count as one inquiry, but my credit score dropped substancially and I receive several "credit declined" letters from the creditors with reasons being "too many inquiries". Obviously, even though these were all for an auto loan in a one week period, they are negatively affecting my credit!
I am considering sending Goodwill letters, but wonder if it worked, did you have any adverse effects, etc.
Thanks!
