HIPAA Question

Sorry, I know there have been an abundance of HIPAA questions but I'm trying to ensure I understand clearly.

I sent the first letter to the CRAs.  EX replied that they deleted.  Technically, I know this debt to be accurate, how should I go about paying it so that the CA doesn't attempt to put it back on my credit report?

Thanks.

Re: HIPAA Question

Was this originally a hospital or doctor's bill? How old is it? Can you pay the collection in full? And do you believe the OC will accept your payment?

Re: HIPAA Question

Hospital bill and yes I can pay it in full.

Bc the CA doesn't have my current address they have been sending notice to my parent's house as recent as early August, hence why I would rather just pay for deletion vs. letting it reappear on my credit report agin.

Re: HIPAA Question

If you are saying that you would rather PFD with the CA     what makes you think that they will accept?

By paying the OC and using the HIPAA process no one can report.

Re: HIPAA Question

Since I am a newbie - I do have a question. I have seen many posts on the HIPPA process and the question always asked is.....Is it a hospital bill or doctor bill? Is there a difference between the 2 when you are starting out on with the HIPPA process?

Thanks!

Yes, there is a difference. Med collections originating from doctors do have a SOL (statute of limitations) whereas ones originating from hospitals might not have a SOL depending which state you live in.
