Hi all!
I received a collection notice from a CA for medical debt. This is the second agency this debt has been sent to, and is in the amount of around $900. Has anyone RECENTLY tried the HIPAA process, and had any success?? Can you tell me what my first step should be? I was considering a DV letter, but after some reading on here, I was thinking the HIPAA process may be the better route.
Thanks for your help!!

anyone, anyone??
The HIPAA process can't be discussed on the forums. You can find your answers with a quick google search though.
Sometimes offering a PFD is the better faster route to get rid of medical collections. Also, you can try contacting the orignal medical provider and see if it's possible to pull back the collection and pay them directly. Only other important note is that if you start communicating with the CA you will not be able to use the HIPAA process.
ETA: I used the the HIPAA process about 2 years ago. Worked for two collections. Didn't work for the third, but a PFD did.
