How long does it take to see any affect on your reports from HIPPAA letters? I'm getting a couple ready to send out now.
I'm on my way and trying to work through this process! Wish me luck!
Hi. I sent HIPAA letter #1 out to the CRA's about 40 days ago and received reporting back from all 3 within 35 days - pls make sure your address is correct with the CRA's and do the opt-out process as suggested. Last Friday, I sent out HIPAA letter #2 CMRRR to the 4 OC's that CRA's verified with cashier's checks made payable to them "for deposit only" to the OC's accounts. The letter states that the OC's need to respond in 10 days of receipt of letter #2. I'm hopeful to see some momentum this week as they process, since yesterday was a bank holiday.
Best of luck to you - if everything goes smoothly, I think letter #1 is the longest wait; we shall see and I will post the results.
I just received correspondence today from Equifax verifying that the debt is mine owed to Express Recovery (the CA) for Hunter Imaging and is a Medical collection. TransUnion said it was not listed on my report. I haven't heard from Experian.
I was going to send Scenario #2 HIPPAA letter with certified funds and check made out to Hunter Imaging with for deposit only to Hunter Imaging. Do I send the letter and funds to Express Recovery? or Hunter Imaging??
Do I need to hear back from Experian before I send?
Thanks!

Did the CA give you a complete and accurate validation of the debt?
It says "Equifax has verified that this item belongs to you"
I have no clue about what it should say, so is this correct?
Its only $51, so I figure I may as well pay it. Just want to make sure I send the correct letter and follow the right procedure so it is deleted.
Thanks!
I haven't received anything from them.
Don't pay anything yet, paying will not automatically delete anything!
Scenario #2: If the CRA “verifies” your unpaid collection but the reporting CA did not provide a complete and accurate validation of the account, send this letter to the CA CMRRR.
After you receive the green card from the Med DV letter, mail this follow-up dispute letter to the CRA CMRRR.
Thank god I asked. I just realized I skipped a step!
I really appreciate your help!
