I have a charge off on all 3 of my reports from HSBC. I have tried to use the board to ask folks for the email address they seem to be having luck with for clearing it from the CRAs. I haven't heard anything from anyone.
The charge off is out of the SOL but doesn't come off my credit for 2 years. It was sold to a collection company that isn't reporting, so I don't know if I want to stir up HSBC or the collection company causing the CA to put something on my report.
What should I do? I'd like to email to EO that others have talked about and see what can be done.

I understand where you are coming from. I have HSBC as the only baddie left on my reports but in my case its only reporting on TU and EQ and it is due to fall off in 2017. Unfortunately, I apologize but I dont have any advice on this one. I am at a point where I dont want to awake a sleeping giant, so the only plan I have now is to wait until next year where I can request If the bureaus can delete HSBC early as obsolete. I have read sometimes that may work but its not a guarantee.
I want HSBC gone but for me, thats my plan until I figure out different. Maybe someone else has some good advice. You can also search HSBC in these forums where some people have contacted HSBC but I havent seen any consistent postiive results with those contacts.
Good luck!!!!!!

HSBC hasnt done much business in the USA on CCs since they sold the portfolio to Cap-1 in 2011, there are not may active people on the boards from that time period who would have such info. I would Google up the headquarters address and send a PFD to the office of the CEO. If the HSBC entry is showing a 0 balance then you would send them a GW letter as they no longer own the debt. If you know who the JDB or CA is then I would be calling them to arrange payment in exchange for it not showing up on your CR.
Okay....that makes sense
Last question.....what does a GW need to include? I haven't done one of those. Is there something I can find online, or do the folks here on the boards have any input on how to word a GW letter?
Would this go to the HSBC offices over seas?

Given that Cap One may not be inclined to care about pre-book HSBC lines, why not just contest the debt? I'm not sure that HSBC has any U.S. based employees who can verify the debt at this point.
