HSBC - Calvary Collection validation

I had some luck last month with credit one collections when I called to validate the debt and they had no history of me besides name and social. I called HSBC to do the same thing and they also have no record of me. I had them check my social and their recovery department. The DofD is in 2011 sometime. Super old. I was thinking of trying my luck with Calvary to DV and since they won't be able to they should delete? Thoughts? Opinions?

Starting Scores: September 2015 minus 500 across the board
Current Scores: October 2017 EQ: 715 TU: 710 EX: 716
In My Wallet:
Cap1 QS: $4.8K - AMEX BCP: $4.2K - Old Navy Visa: $7K - Nordstrom $3.8K - VS $500 (FTW!)
BofA AU: $12K AMEX AU: $25K
Business: AMEX BCP $15K

Re: HSBC - Calvary Collection validation

They may, upon review, choose to delete their reporting after receipt of a DV

However, they are not required to do so.  A DV is a debt collection practices matter, and does not require any response.

First, if more than 30 days has passed since they sent dunning notice, which is likely the case, then a DV can be ignored.

Second, even if the DV were timely, it would not impose any period for or requirment to respond with validation.

It would impose an cease colllectino bar, and provided they dont continue any active collectiion activities, they could choose to never respond.

In order to impose a required period for response, you would have to file a dispute under the FCRA, which would require that you identify some inaccuracy in their reporting, and provide some documentation to support your assertion that it is inaccurate.

Do you have a legitimate basis for a dispute of their reporting?
