Is it the general consensus that soft inquiries you should never worry about and how many you do doesn't matter (or does it?), while hard inquires tend to effect your credit score negatively and can be as a negative signal to a lender not to give a loan? Thoughts?

Well that depends, I would think....a soft inquiry would never lower your score!! It might however, if you have a lot of them from many lenders, raise questions when your report is being viewed by a mortgage lender. Mortgage lenders typically go through the entire 3B reports line by line, so if I were close on getting the loan, I would prefer that not many soft pulls would show up from potential lenders. A soft pull you get to find out your score will never hurt. No soft inquery is suppose to be considered, but lenders are people, and might consider 20 pages of soft pulls even if they do not admit it. Many soft pulls are instigated without your knowledge for targeted offers, so those should not hurt. I think by law however, no soft inquery is suppose to have any affect at all, and may not.
Actually Lenders aren't privy to Soft Pulls on your credit reports.

^^^ This 100%
Not to get on you. Get your scores up as mentioned in the other 2 threads you started. Right now seeking credit in the 500's isnt ideal. Fix the past so you have a better future.
