Help! Just getting started...

OK so I've been here for a little bit reading as much as I can, trying to absorb what's going on.  Currently I'm taking action on getting a secured card, but I want to start doing SOMETHING with my old debts.

I have 5 items on my credit that I want to address now.  One of those are still in the SOL, however I'm prepared to do a PFD on that one...or settle and GW it...

On the other 4 -

1 is definitely mine and I dont doubt the amount

2 I really don't recall but it's possible they are accurate because that point in my life was kind of crazy.

1 actually am SURE is not accurate because I remember talking to the OC office and they even admitted they had a change in staff or technology or something and their billing was all screwed up.

So I was thinking...

sending a PFD to the two I don't question (one in SOL, one out of SOL)

sending a DV to the 2 I don't really recall

sending a letter to the one I'm sure isn't accurate asking them to validate the amount they have

BUT HERE's the COMPLICATION

I pulled my 3 reports.  ON ALL OF THESE ACCOUNTS... the OC is reporting to TU, and a CA is reporting to EX and EQ.  Since you don't send DV to OC's where does that leave me?    Do I have to have one game plan for the CA's reporting to EX and EQ and another game plan for TU????

This seems so overwhelming...I've started this many times and never did anything because I got overwhelmed...but I am determined to get this done this time!!!!!!!!!!

...but I'd like your advice so I don't screw it up!!!!

First, congrats on taking first steps in rebuilding.
Are sure OC reports to TU. Because on of the two should be reporting $0. Look into it one more time carefully.

Re: Help! Just getting started...

I just looked at it again... it's weird...

For Example...  One of the ones I don't really recall was a library... on Transunion the Library name is reporting.  The account says it's a collection account and had a balance of $225.  Then on EX and EQ all the SAME information is reported only the reporting company is a CA by the name of Brandywine Accounts.  IT's like this for all of them.........

Re: Help! Just getting started...

Send DV to CA first.
Usually for library collections most common is Uniques National Collections.
