Help in understanding how my high balance is inaccurate on my CR

I just pulled my Trans Union Credit Report and it shows a lot fo things that have a high balance that is over the credit limit on my accounts. One account in particular it shows a high balance that I know is not possible because the credit limit is only $3,700 but the high balance shows over $9k. I closed a lot of these accounts and they are still showing as current status. Should I write and have the closed accounts removed from my credit report? Also what should I do about the high balances that are showing up on some accounts?

thanks,

Hi zetagirl!

I edited your post to remove your name.

Are these accounts that defaulted? You noted that you closed them, but did you stop paying them with a balance due? If so, interest and penalty charges may have accrued to account for the "high balance". Does a balance report now, or does it report zero? Do you have corresponding open collections for these accounts?

It might help if you can copy and paste the tradelines, minus any personally identifying information.
