OK, I've been reading alot. This is a wonderful board!!! I like everyone else here, am trying to rebuild my credit. I'm currently at 541. I'm trying to find out what to do. I have private student loans, which are current. I paid late 3 times, I paid my truck note lat te 3 times but it's current, 1 judgment on 2 credit reports, 2 Bank of America credit cards that I settle for less than the full amount, 1 Discover card with alot of lates, and 1 collection. So far, I've sent a PFD letter to Discover and the collection account. I have not heard anything yet from them. I did send it certified mail also. I wrote a letter to GMAC asking them to remove my late payments and I have not heard anything. I'm trying to figure out how can I get the credit cards that I settled for than the amount off. Can someone help me and tell me what to do. I've disputed my credit report many of time and they keep sending it back previously verified. What can I do to speed up the process?
The collection and the judgment is what's hurting your credit score a lot. How recent are they?
Is the collection paid? if so , you can sent a GW letter to ask to get it removed.
The truck loan and student loan, sent a GW letter to ask for the lates to be removed. Here is the thread about GW letters.

The CRA will not remove accurate data. How long ago did you settle the collection account? How many open credit cards do you have? What is your utilization? If it is above 50% try applying for credit from the following:
Capital One
Credit One - will approve anybody but CL are low ($200 - $500)
Orchard Bank (HSBC)
Hooters
All of the above have annual fees in the $39 - $79 range but no "activation fees" or other monthly fees. Hooters pulls TU and Credit One pulls Equifax. Credit One would be my last choice as the annual fee increases with CL increases.
