Help with PFD and CITI

I have a CITI account that was charged off and would like to PFD. Through back door numbers I was eventually transferred to the Internal Recovery dept. who told me that I have to take care of this through the CA. Does anyone have any experience with success doing a PFD with CITI? If so please let me know about your experience and how you went about it. Otherwise I'll probably just end up paying the CA and then GW.

Thanks to anyone willing to help!

If anyone has any information I'd appreciate it. I'm about to write the CA a check.

Did you try a PFD with the CA or just with the OC? I'd try a PFD with the CA before just writing them a check.

I am not quite sure what you are trying to do.  First, has the third party CA reported to your CR, or just the OC by way of their chargeoff?

If the CA has not yet reported, then simply paying them wll preclude addition of a CA.

If the CA has reported, most CAs will not grant deletion of prior reporting after payment, for they are specificall insructed in the CRA credit reporting manual that this is improper.  So I would try a PFD while you still have some clout on your side.  After payment, they have no financial incentive to delete.

Re: Help with PFD and CITI

The CA isn't on my CR. I was hoping to get the OC to delete so I don't have the charge off and over two years of monthly delinquencies on my CR.
Thanks a lot for your help guys!
