I am new here but I have been reading stuff on the site for about a week now. I have been trying to figure out how to go about cleaning up my credit report and have been working hard at getting it done. There is one account listed on my report for sprint pcs through a credit agency called collection company of (I guess maybe america is the last part but it is cut off). Anyway I have my cell service through sprint and have had for many years and have never discontinued service with them, nor have I had more than one account so I disputted the listing. It came back as verified. So I sent an email to sprint just trying to find out what is going on and explain the above to them. They sent an email back asking me to verify information so they could look up my account and discuss it with me. I sent that information back to them and then got the following email from them:
Thank you for your reply.
I have checked our records. There is no account in your name under
collection. There is no past due balance on your current account
#299149214. Please provide me the account number for which there is a
bad credit on your credit report.
Thank you again for contacting Sprint.
Sincerely,
Veronica R.
Sprint
I have sent them the information that they have requested and I am waiting for a reply back from them, but my question is, is this enough to get them to remove this from my report? She checked my name and my current account for this and found nothing.
How long has it been since you sent the DV to the CA regarding this account?
Did you send it CMRRR? Is there a DOFD listed? This would only be on your EQ report directly from EQ or a removal date on your TU or EX report pulled directly from them.
If more than about 40 days, file a complaint with the BBB stating that they are alleging a debt with the original creditor being Sprint. You have requested validation to find out what this is about and after no response contacted Sprint directly, whom you currently have service with. Sprint has assured you that they have no account in your name that has been turned over to collections, only your current account that is not in collections and is active.
