You would need to get your reports from the CRAs to see the CA. Have you got yours from annualcreditreport.com yet?
Or you can call the OC and see if they will accept payment and recall the debt from the CA and ask them to have the CA delete. The CA doesn't have to delete but if the OC asks them too they might.
Or you can call the OC and ask who is collecting, call and offer them a PFD.

Thanks, I just went to annualcreditreport.com and was able to view my Equifax report. The CA is Contract Callers Inc. Would it be best to email, call, or write them? Do you know how successfull people have been getting a PFD?
I have never heard of that CA so I don't know if they do or not.
If you know the debt is yours you can just call them. It would be best do get it in writing but if they won't and they agreed orally, you have that.
You know you can get all 3 reports free from annualcreditreport.com once every 12 months.
Thanks. I did a search on here for Contract Callers and I saw at least one person with success so hopefully it works for me. I'm going to send out a PFD letter tomorrow.
I found an email address for Contract Callers. Would it look too pushy if I emailed them and sent a letter? Should I just do one and wait a little bit?
I would do one or the other.
Alright, I sent an email so we'll see how it goes. I hope I at least hear a response.
Good luck!
