Hello to all,
I was hoping for a little advice on how to remove 2 late payments from GE Capital. The account is less than a year old, abd the late payments were in january and december of last year. I called 3 times and spoke to different supervisors and they all said that there is no way to remove the late payments from the reporting agencies. Even though i have two other accounts with them over 6 years old with never a single late payment on either of them.
I just received my GW letter back in the mail stating the same thing the 3 supervisors told me. Is there something else I can try? Is it possible to just have this whole account removed? I currently carry no balance on any of my 3 accounts with them.
thanks
Keep sending GW letters. I've read several members' stories, who repeatedly sent GW letters and made phone calls even after being told no (via phone and letter) and finally had success, on this forum. All it takes is one person!
I would interpret any statement that "there is no way to get them removed" as simply a statement of their normal policy.
Underlings follow management policy. So, yes, there probably is no way to get them removed through that underling.
Management sets policy, and thus has the ability, provided it is not illegal, to grant exceptions to its own policies. While frowned upon by the CRAs, CR deletion based on payment of a debt is not illegal.
You need to get your request to a management official who has the authority to grant exceptions.
