I'm planning on buying a house in the future. I'm currently cleaning my credit up. I'm hoping I have a success story soon lol. I have seven late payments on my credit report from 2018. It was a rough year. I started sending out goodwill emails last week. I've been emailing CEOs, President, and other execs.
Dell DFS - one 60 days late (open account)
Emailed President and someone called me the next day. He looked at my account to see if he could find any inaccuracies to help. They don't delete but will send a letter to show that I only paid late once in 10 years. I feel like that can be seen on my CR but it was a nice gesture.
Indigo - one 30 days late (open account)
Emailed President and someone called me the next day. They were nice but they don't do them.
Synchrony - two cards accounts with five 30 days late (closed with 0 balance)
Emailed 12 execs including CEO. They called me today and will look into and get back to me in 10 days.
Barclays - one 30 days late (closed account almost paid off)
Emailed 5 execs including CEO. Got a call the next day but missed it. I'm going to call back tomorrow.
Continental Finance - one 30 days late (open account)
I can't locate and email for this company. I have the names but don't know the email format. I called customer service to ask but they claim they don't have emails. I will mail it in.
Citi - one 60 days late (closed account $0 balance)
Emailed 4 execs including CEO. They called me today and will look into and get back to me in 10 days.
Well, good luck with the clean up!Looks like you are headed in the right direction. Please keep us posted!
Good Luck.
I had one 30 day late on my reports from late last year. One oversight costs 50 (more or less) fico points for 8 months and I was able to successfully get the lender grant a goodwill deletion just this week. Stay persistent and be prepared to get lots of runaround, rejections and you will be frustrated and feeling defeated at times. Don't be discouraged by seemingly uncaring responses. After all, it was our own mistakes and shortcomings that put us in this position. If you keep at it while being your most gracious self, you will be successful. It took me 4 months of quiet frustration and anguish to hear YES but it took numerous calls (lots of long holds) and handwritten letters (plus emails). You can do the same and you shall prevail. Good luck!!!
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I'm going to try and stay positive and keep going.
How old are these lates and what's your current score? Do you have a quick snapshop of your credit profile you can send?
Hello,
All the lates are from 2018. Below are my Fico 8s. I'm hoping they go up soon because I just took my utilization from 107% to 27% by paying a big chunk of debt down last week.

Just to update everyone. ALl my GWs were denied lol. I received a phone call for each claiming they don't change what they report. I feel defeated but in the end, it's my fault. So I gotta suck it up.

The thing about GW requests, is you likely will not get a "yes" on the first try. It can take many attempts. As long as the derogs are there, I would keep trying, as all you have is time between now and when they age off!
Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to do another round.
