Hi. I had some collections on my credit report that I was trying to clean up with PFD letters. I used some of the examples here (Thank goodness for this forum). Instead of writing a generalized PFD letter, I wrote one with the standard "I'm willing to pay in full for delettion"....." we both know that paid or unpaid has a negative impact on my credit profile" but....I took it a step further.Toward the end of the letter, I explained my situation at the time, which was domestic violence. A lot of my bills arose from that event and it was noticed in my credit report the timelines of the occurances. I just mentioned that I was vulnerable at that time, requiring a lot of assistance and my focus was getting better and keeping a roof over my head for safety. So, I combined a lot of things that were in this forum but also included a personal touch to my letter.
Today, I received a letter from NCO. They have ALREADY removed the collections from my report (which NCO was the highest risk on my report) and would like the PFD. What a change i customer service!!! They were easy to work with. The letter was hand signed and unbeleivable that they removed the collection BEFORE payment.
Just thought that I would share this with everyone. They have a special department that you can either mail or fax your letters to. If any of you would like that info, please let me know. So far, so good.
Congrats and can you PM me with the info please.
Will post both address and fax number later. I sent them both letters and fax. Good luck. I am very happy!!! To note, I asked them also that if they couldn't do this, to please forward itto a manger who could. Seened to all work. I just wrote a little of everything that I've read here...with my own hardship that created the collection.
thanks.
Can u send me the info for NCO
I'm sorry. I couldn't find the info tonight. I have been very busy with a long distance move. But when I find it, I promise you that I will post. They have a mailing address and also a fax. I suggest sending to both, like I did. Took them at least a month to respond but it was a pleasant surprise. I would add more to the PDF....on a personal level. I will post the info within next few days.
Ok...to all of you who asked....here is the contact info for NCO. Mailing address: PO Box 15087, Wilmington, Delaware, 19850. email: compliance@ncogroup.com (the email is used maily to dispute info) and the fax number is 215-442-8318. The phone number is 877-433-9990.
I think that after I spoke with them, I mailed my letter and also faxed it. I can't remember if I emailed it because it really wasn't a dispute. It was a PFD request.
And yes, they deleted the two accounts from my credit report before I even paid,,,,which I will still honor my word and pay. I just thought it was very nice of them to do....because they can be difficult. As I said, I made my own letter to them from taking parts of all the samples on here and also included a personal side of why those collections occured. My letter went all the way to the Director of Consumer Affairs, hand signed by her. Very nice.
Good luck, everyone. Make sure to ask in your letter that if the person reading it does not have authority to delete, to please keep escalating the letter to whomever could. I guess in my case, it was the director.
If any of you are confused....tanichola and cat98037 are the same person....me. I forgot my account info one night , opened another one and now have 2.
