How bad is it affecting?

The 2 paid chargeoffs that I have with the same CU, (the one that is NOT responding to GW emails!) one from 2005 for $19.00 overdraft, (really?yeah, hmph) and the other from 2006. How bad are they affecting my report/score??

Re: How bad is it affecting?

People on this forum have reported a 25 to 40 point bump to their scores when a 7 year old collection has aged off their reports. Of course YMMV.

Starting Score: EQ 653 6/21/12
Current Score: EQ 817 3/10/20 - EX 820 3/13/20 - TU 825 3/03/20

THAT would be awesome. Though it does look like I still have quite a bit before they age off. Smiley Sad   And the CU is not responding to my GW efforts.

Re: How bad is it affecting?

Are they the only baddies on your report?

Shouldn't the CO from 2005 be aging off soon?

Re: How bad is it affecting?

Other than the dispute with EX that is due results on the 12th, they are the only baddies on there. They are both paid. I would have thought at least the 2005 one would be gone, but it's still hanging on. Smiley Sad

Re: How bad is it affecting?

I beleive the longest it can stay on your report is 7.5 years from the date of first default. Is there a date specified on your report? You could then determine when it will age off.

Re: How bad is it affecting?

+1 there should be an expected deletion date posted.  That way you'd know when it would fall off.
