Hi, I am new here and this is my first post. I've looked at possible threads that could solve my issue, but could not really get anything out of them so please forgive me if this is a re-post of an old question...
Other than one collection, my credit report is clean. I had a collection from Sprint in 3/06. I was not aware of the collection as I moved and the ex was paying the bill after I left. Needless to say, she stopped paying the bill and next thing I know, I have a collection. It was for $76 and the moment I found out it was in collection, I paid in full. Is there a way I can get that taken off my report? If so, what steps should I take? Sprint was the OC and a company called NCO FIN/99 (that's what shows on my credit report) is the CA.
Any suggestions will help; i just need to find a way to get this blemish off my Credit Report.
Thanks
Do a search on GW or goodwill letters. There are lots of examples out there. Since you've paid, that's really your only option of action you can take to try to get NCO to remove it. NCO has been strangely cooperative lately, so you might have a pretty good shot. Explain about the move, and your immediate payment once you were aware of the situation.
I've seen at least one moderator discuss planetfeedback with respect to gw'ing the original creditor. You can google it. But it sounds like Sprint is not reporting, just NCO.
