I am an authorizer user on an account...that now is not impacting my credit positively, what steps should I take to get removed from that?
Also, can I ask to have them delete that account from my credit report?

Hi there.
You can have the primary account owner contact the issuer and have you removed from the account. That is usually all that is needed.

Many suggest that you contact the CRA and dispute "account not mine," but I would not suggest that route.
By definition, an AU account is not yours, so that is not a basis for the CRA to delete it. An AU "account" is a quirk of credit reporting that does permit an "account not mine" to appear in your CR, so I dont see the CRA as the one to determine its inclusion or removal. It is the duty of the reporting crediitor.
I just had to dispute to AU accounts through the CRA's. The OC's don't notify the CRA's of your removal, you have to tell them. If you don't, the accounts will stay listed and have a report date at the last update with you on the account. This was of course my experience. Others may have had a different experience.

+1, same for me. However, once I disputed it online, all 3 CRAs removed it in just a couple days.

I contacted the OC via phone and it was off in 2 days.. I think eveyone just has different experience/responses.
So if that is the case, would it be best to remove yourself as AU when the balance is 0 and then NOT dispute it so it continues to show 0 balance on the CR?
Nope, it won't matter.
Sears and Chase were the two that I was an AU on, and they both send letters (on letterhead) for me to forward to the agencies. They were removed quickly!
