How do I tell which type of credit is my account. Wether it is Equifax, trans union, or experian

For instance,

I need to know which account is specifically the type of credit so I can go ahead and dispute charges.  Also are there any letters to referrence to send to these accounts to have late day payments that are a couple years old removed that have never been removed and are still showing?

Any help is appreciated as I am really trying to sort out my not so good credit so I can purchase my first home.

Thanks!!!!

Nicole

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I guess I do not completely understand what you are asking.

When you pull your reports, it should say where it came from.  EQ, EX or TU, on the report.

Or, are you asking what type of credit a certain account would fall under?

Lates come off 7 years from the date of occurence.  You can send a Good will letter and asked they remove them early.  They don't have to do this.

Thank you so much for replying I greatly appreciate this.

You got it the first time around. I was asking which type meaning ex, etc.  I did see it said ex at the bottom of all 6 accounts.

As far as the late payment marks I have 6 accounts with them. All old.  One was a car loan from 03, I called them today and they told me it stays on for 10 years. Which it has already been 7.

These good will letters requesting removal is there a reference area where I can find a letter to reference.  So I can ensure I am addressing appropriately to these accounts.  I am really trying to get these removed in order to improve my score to be able to buy my first home.

Any help is appreciated with finding great reference letters.

Thanks!

Which it has already been 7.  Each late will come off 7 years from the date it occured.  Once the last late comes off, it will become a positive account and stay for 10 years from the date closed.    If the late was some time in 03 it will come off this year.  If it is still there after 7 years you may need to do a dispute with the CRA.  But, I would not do that unless you have someone look at your account first.  Disputing can lead to worse things.

Any help is appreciated with finding great reference letters.
