I have learned from this site when that I am in a negative scoring bucket so that is why I never get a automatic CLI from Best Buy, lowes, kohls. Nor will I be approved for one. Should I close these accounts and reapply?? Or jujst wait them out???
Also, will I ever get back in the 700's??? How long will it take??
For some background...
Our crisis was in 2008...no bk or c/o just lots of lates. We were current with everyone by Jan 2009 and were able to secure lower financing in exchange for closing the accounts. We continue to chip away at our debts and to date have PIF many of them. But because they are closed accounts our scores dont move as we PIF. Especially our credit utilization because once these accounts are PIF they are removed from the equation. To counterect this I applied and approved for 3 store cards in 2010...lowes, kohls and best buy. The plan was I would get automatic CLI from these accounts to increase our credit available. Well all three 3 creditors never have given any CLI. When I call about it, I am denied. Thats how I learned about negative scoring buckets. I am eager for my scores to get back to 700. I have been at 671-686 all year.
If the only thing that is dinging your credit score is late payments, then I would suggest to send G W letters, asking for removal of the late payments.
The most recent late payments are the ones most hurting your score, so I would start with those first.
You are not, based on anything done by FICO, specifically categorized with your creditors as being in a "negative bucket." Scoring categorizations used by FICO are part of their proprietary scoring algorithms, and are not conveyed to creditors.
The information itself that may have put you into a negative "bucket" in one or more of the FICO scoring categories is, of course, available in your CR. However, the FICO categorization of its "bucketing" determinations is proprietary to them, and not made available to anyone.
Creditors may have their own "bucketing" categories based on their own interpretation of the information in your CR, and may group you into approval and disapproval categories, but not based on cateforizations communicated to them by Fair Isaac.
