How do you remove late payments that are not correct?

Due to several personal reasons I became late on my Sears bill back in the early part of 2004. In April of 2004 I was contacted by Citi Cards for Sears, who set up a 11 month program to deduct $100 from my checking account. From the letter that I received from Citi Cards, dated in May (and still have) that by agreeing to make these payments these would not constitute late payments. I also have all the 11 months paper work for these payments, includinging the sears statements. Going back and looking at these, the Sears statement say that this account is seriously past due and that arrangements for future payments should be made immediately, which what I thought I did thru Citi Cards. The 3 credit reports are showing that I had late payments in June thru Sept of 2004. But my Sears and CIti Cards show these where made on time. How do I get this corrected?

Call them, get their fax number. Fax them the documents you have, with some kind of letter explaining your dispute. Fax with proper identification. If ou dont have a fax, go to fedex or somewhere where they have one. Its so much faster than mail

Great advice...that's what I'd do!  GL.

p.s.  keep the fax transmission page after it goes through sucessfully!  It's just like a receipt!

Whatever you do, do not dispute. That could lead to the account being deleted (lose history) or "verified" making it that much harder to remove the lates.
