Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I did a search on this topic and found that while the posts reference/mention how user-unfriendly the site is there is a way to get this service without being affiliated with the armed forces. Could someone please explain to me how this is done? Must it be over the phone? Or can it be done online? Thanks.
It is pretty simple, I did it online and it is the only product I have from them. I also am not affiliated with the military. Just choose the product and answer the questions, it took me maybe 5 minutes.
Their monitoring service is pretty good. But when I signed up for a secured CC they gave me 6 months of monitoring for free also
Weird. It made me asnwer all tehse questions about my military affiliation, to which I responded all in the negative and then it said sorry, you don't qualify. I'll try again. Thanks.
Yea, nope, doesn't work.
I click on the product and click on sign up now. It then prompts me for either my social or USAA number. I put in my social and it says
"We couldn't find the USAA number or Social Security number you entered." Then, I have the option to re-attempt to register again with my non-existent USAA account or join (which I cannot since I am not military). I guess I have to call.
You can sign up for USAA banking just not insurance if I am not mistaken
I was able to do it two weeks ago.....but I had to search for the right registration page. The one on the front page wasn't the right one, I found it on another page. It did ask me if I was active, etc., but it let me through.
You need to register for your USAA # first, then try to enroll in the CreditMonitor (which is awesome, daily updates!!)
woo-hoo! dug around the site and clicked sign up for banking and that seemed to get me to right register screen even though it looks just like the front page register screen which denied me at first. thanks!
