7 years from DOFD (date of first delinquency). Sometimes sooner depending on the state (for example I'm in NY and paid collections/judgments fall off after 5 years).
I wouldn't try to delete inquiries.
Because you wont have much success and they are a small part of ones FICO score. Disputing them with the CRAs and you risk getting a fraud alert placed.

And inquiries are a short term issue (they only affect scores for 12 months and are gone at 24), while rebuilding is a long term (24+ months) project.

That's a good point. I would have got a $5000 increase on my Barclay card if it weren't for my inquiriesthat's why I was asking.
Ouch. Well, the credit lines will come in time, just keep reminding youself that this is a marathon, and not a sprint.
DOFD only applies to collections and charge-offfs. It does not apply to the exlcusion period of any types of public record information.
Public record information has exclusion dates dependient upon the type of information.
Judgments can remain for 7 years from date of entry of the judgment or until expiration of the statute of limitations on enforceability of the judgement, whichever is longer.
Tax liens become excluded 7 years after date paid.
You can write a party who made an inquiry and make informal requests regarding the inquiry, but you cannot send them a direct dispute.
Credit inquiries are epecifically exempted from the direct dispute process.
What is your reason for requesting deletion of a credit inquiry? Was it improper in some manner?
