I applied for a Walmart card in July 2014 (right at three months ago). I was denied, at that time my TU score was 592. Since then, I've had a couple of baddies deleted from my credit report and I now have three credit cards (2 secured, 1 unsecured) that I didn't have at first. My TU score is now 661. Since the three credit cards that I have now are very new, I'm not looking to re-apply right now, I'm just wondering. How long will I have to wait before I can re-apply, after being denied? What time frame am I looking at (3 mths, 6 mths, 1 year, etc...)?
Many lenders have policies in place to where an app after a recent denial would be automatically denied. They often range from 30 to 90 days. I don't know of a specific timeframe that Synchrony Bank has in place, so you should be able to reapply at any time, if your profile supports it. You could apply now and would very likely get an approval.
The time you decide to wait really depends on your goals. Are you waiting for INQs to age off TU (or at least your scores) or are you letting accounts age? If either of those are the case, then 6 months after the last app is a good time frame. One year is even better.

Apply again in 12 months... ![]()
I always say 6 months after your last card.
Sounds like you have done some great work. I sometimes think I should just have a portion of my check direct deposited to Wal Mart. I did it 7 months after denial and was approved. Make sure you have the inquiry to burn.

When you hit 620. Why wall-mart? Get 700 and apply for prime cards.
Every TL has a purpose. As for the perks of the the Walmart store card, there's the special financing offers, the cash-over feature, and the free TU08 score. Also, it's attainable in the low 600s and can grow with you. It's a very popular CC with those who are building/rebuilding credit.
