I have been trying to clean up my credit report for the last year or so and was recently able to get a PFD for Midland Credit. The Midland Credit account was from a charge-off and the original creditor is Synchrony Bank, which was from a department store credit card. I notice that Midland has now been removed completely from my report, but it still has the Synchrony Bank account listed with $0 as being closed. I assume this is affecting my report and I'm trying to find out the best way to go about having it removed. I have read about goodwill letters but am unsure if this is the proper route to go.
Any advice on how I should proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Congrats on your success!!! I have a collections with Midland, how did you get them to remove it? Did they do it automatically or did youn send them a letter? I would really like to call in and pay them by debit to get faster results. Anyones advice would be helpful.
Thanks
Thanks for the replies!
vonnie5603, while researching on this and other forums I found several people that had success removing Midland. I called them and asked for them to send me a written letter stating that they would remove the account and cease reporting to all agencies after I paid 60% of the total amount. Around a week and a half later when the letter arrived I called them and paid over the phone. Please PM me if you need any other info!
Midland's policy is they will delete the collection after 1) payment or settlement is made and 2) its been 2 years from the DOFD.

I have a collections from Midland for $664, from 2015. I disputed it and the OC in 2015 OC deleted Midland wouldn't budge. Do you recommend I offer a pay for delete?
Midland has a policy where if you pay or settle with them they will delete if it’s 2 years from the dofd. So I think in your situation, it would be deleted after payment.
