Hey guys,
I was looking to some guidance on how I should deal with this collections account I have.
from acima
when I got my vehicle repaired years ago.
myFICO shows:
Experian:
Last updated: 01/2021
Payment status: unpaid balance reported as a loss by credit grantor
Worst delinquency: charge off/ other derogatory remark
balance: $1208
30 day missed payment october 2020
60 day missed November 2020
Then it shows charge off for for dec 2020- january 2021 then not reported until now.
if I gotta pay it then I will but how would you guys approach this?
currently have 2 years good credit history on my two credit cards: capital one platinum (unsecured) 700 limit and opensky (secured) 200 limit
Welcome @Epicsushi
call them up and see what they will settle the account for. Settled or paid. It will reflect a $0 balance. Fall off date will be 7 yrs from the first 30 day late that led to CO status. There is no PFD on CO's. Pay it and get it over with. Good luck!
Straight to the point and with added facts!
Thank you for helping me out. Calling them first thing in the morning!

This. Pretty much somes up the same i have went through. You forsure want that balance to be reproted as zero. Settling can do that.

Excellent. Let us know how it goes to help others! Good Luck!
You said it is from "years ago". Is the 2020 date you listed accurate? As in, is that when you last paid? If not, I would get that ironed out first. Depending on how old this is, your options may change.
In either event, a paid collection or even a paid charge off is better than an open one on your credit.

Appears they didnt mess around. 30, 60 ,CO.
"30 day missed payment october 2020
60 day missed November 2020
Charge off for for dec 2020"
No, I saw what he posted there, I'm just asking if that info--which is what they put on his credit apparently--is accurate. He said it was from years ago, so it sounded like an older deal than 2020.
One more thing nobody pointed out: while it is definitely more preferable to have a paid CO/CA, since the account hasn't updated in 2 years, OP will likely take a score ding once the TL updates and reports paid.
But, @Epicsushi don't freak out when that happens. You'll get those points back and more over time. Just trying to give you a bit of a heads up on what to expect.
