I just thought I'd share my exciting experience today. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my credit. I have about 12 baddies/ on my report that I an working to have removed. My current ficos are EQ 598, TU 579, EX 592 (they've increased approximately 20points in the last month). I have a Capital One CL $300 (due to graduate to $500 in September) and I have a Credit One CL $300 (just received a couple of weeks ago). Upon finding this web site and the idea of purchasing a home in the next 3 - 4 years, I've become extremely motivated to fix my credit. After experiencing being turned down sooooo many times in life, I've never had the courage to apply for credit that wasn't pre-approved. However today, I applied for The Childrens Place card (I have 2 grandchildren) just for the hell of it. And voila!!! I was approved for a $250 CL. Not much, but I can't tell you how elated I was. I felt like I had just won the lottery. Not sure if this is good or bad, but it was an exilarating experience. Anywho, I just wanted to share. I don't think I will continue to apply. I just want a Citi Secured card for $500 and I'll coast with that and the other cards until I get a significant jump in my scores. Perhaps to 650... Anyway I'm so stoked. Again, it's only $250 but it will definitely help with my utilization. I guess my message today is: You never know till you try!!!
