FWIW
Pre-approval, Pre-selected, Pre-qualified does not mean approved it's still a 50/50 chance based on a SP
It's when they HP your CR's they see everything included in your files
The best way to an approval is to have CR's in good shape. Scores are second.
In fact in the CC forum we are starting to see more and more of those DENIED
YMMV
I went ahead and did the Discover inquiry and it recommended the Discover it card.
I agree with you that the 38% utilization does not look good.
I guess my frustration comes from the fact that I hear stories of people declaring bankruptcy and getting a CC almost immediately. I, on the other hand, am working so hard to pay off these debts and I feel like I'm fighting this alone and nobody wants to give me a chance.
Both hubs and I tried prequal link, for both it said Congratulations, you are preapproved for Barclay Rewards Card, and then a button that said accept now. We both decided to try and take the hard pull and were both approved. Now, if I go on there, it gives me recommended cards, but no preapproval. If you get a preapproval message, you don't have to go further in the process, but you'll have a little more info than before.
I've heard most who try and get the congrats also get the card, but that's qualitative, not quantitative data, you can't be 100% sure you'll get the card with preapproval, but I think its a good indicator.
Considering the information I provided about my credit right now, do you think the Barclays Rewards Mastercard would be worth applying for? I read that they pretty much approve anyone.
Is this card worth applying for in my quest to rebuild my credit?
